In the coastal communities of Pilar, they capture milk fish (bangrus) in a passive way using seine (fishing net that hangs vertically with floats on top and weights on the bottom edge). Pagpamangrus is done on shallow water, which is why it can be seen on coastal areas, not more than chest-deep. Called "pagpamangrus", they employ a net body. The netting is hung on two pieces of twine, the second twine is where the "pataw" are attached. The gear extends 100-200 meters from the shoreline and are supported by bamboo poles at each end where the net and twine are tied.
